With a persons wedding day being one of the most important days in their life it is important that everything looks and goes great, so that's when the last finishing details come into play such as jewellery. This is both for the bride and the groom as they can both have pieces that can completely finish off their outfit and add that extra something special. Your choice in jewellery will be affected by a great number of things and the factors affecting the decision will be different for the groom and the bride.
Here are some tips to follow that should be able to aid you in making the final decision of what type of jewellery you should choose and the factors affecting the decision of both parties;
- Women - The choice of jewellery is always that bit bigger decision than it is for the men as they have to think more about whether or not their jewellery compliments their dress and the rest of their out fit. For example if they had pearls on their dress then it wouldn't be a very good match with jewellery that has black stones. This is why the jewellery for the bride is usually bought after the dress has, when buying the dress the bride will usually have some kind of idea as to the jewellery they want to wear when they have picked the dress. there are different combinations that go extremely well such as if the top of the dress is a bodice style then a choker style necklace would go well, where as if it were a V neck, or shape similar, then a pendant style necklace would look better. When wearing more than one piece of jewellery you should make sure that the pieces you wear are made of similar (if not the same) materials, this is so all parts will match the dress and not clash with each other at the same time. When choosing pieces such as earrings you are probably best waiting till you have your hairstyle decided and the other jewellery chosen this is because if you have your hair swept up then it would look better with larger hanging earrings but if you were to have your hair down then you would probably be best with a more discreet stud or something similar.
- Men - The choice for men is not usually as bad because they normally don't where any other jewellery apart from the ring they get given, cufflinks and maybe a necklace. The choice is so much easier for men because their outfits are usually a lot simpler so many more pieces of jewellery will go with them. Most men wearing jewellery for their wedding will choose clean cut, sharp edged jewellery just because of the fact it looks smart.

When choosing your wedding jewellery before buying it be sure to try it on with your wedding attire, whether this means you take your dress to try on at the same time or if you can take the jewellery home try it on with the rest of the outfit and if it is not suitable take it back to the store.
