Wedding Preparation

The planning for your wedding can sometimes feel more stressful than any situation in the rest of your life. That's why the planning is so important and if you have a set plan outline for your wedding then you will be able to relax more and not feel as under pressure because you will have a plan to stick to and follow. This is why one of the first things you should do is set out a written plan for everything your wedding will include and the maximum cost you are willing to pay on each individual part. Once you have your final budget outlined then you will be able to get on with the rest of the planning you have to carry out.

Here are some tips you can follow to make the process easier;

  • Deciding who will be going - This may sound easier than it actually is a lot of the time especially if you both have very large families. Dependant on your final budget you would need to think about who you most definitely want there to begin with this usually consists of immediate family and then works out wards from that. When you have the final figure for those going you can then start arranging the wedding invitations, people tend to send out the invitations a fair while before the wedding is to take place thus giving people maximum time to arrange out fits etc and also this ensures maximum number of people being able to make the date because they will unlikely have other plans booked that far in the future. You then need to decide what kind of invitations you would like to use whether you would like to make your own which would take up more time but have a more personal touch or if you would prefer to send out professional ones that would be quicker.
  • Deciding on entertainment and food - When it comes to this section of the planning you simply have to sit down together and decide whether you would like a formal theme or if you would prefer a more casual theme. Once this is decided choosing things like the food and entertainment should be a lot easier to decide on. It's all down to personal preference there are some that would like a very formal style meal with classical music through out the evening by a live orchestra, where as others would prefer a casual style buffet with a DJ and karaoke for the evening entertainment.
  • Wedding PreparationDeciding on the venue - The venue at which you hold the wedding is again up to personal preference the choice is usually made easier if one of or both of you are religious and have a church you frequent at because most people in this situation would choose to hold the wedding at their parish. However, it doesn't necessarily have to be your local church you hold the wedding at as there are more options than ever as to where you can hold your wedding there are many people now that like to have their ceremonies outside this is especially the case for those that hold their weddings in the summer.

Once you have all the above planned it helps if you have a written programme so you know what will be happening at what time through out the day. This will give you piece of mind as you will have an actual written plan as to what different things will be happening and at what time during the day. Some people that write these plans out also give these to guests along with their invitations so they have a clear idea as what to expect from the day.
